CR&DALL was delighted to co-host a roundtable, in conjunction with the International University of Kyrgyzstan (IUK) in Bishkek as part of the project The role of universities in developing skills for Smart Cities, funded by the Scottish Funding Council from its contribution to the University of Glasgow’s efforts to develop activities concerned with the Global Challenges Research Fund.
A team of staff from the University presented at the Roundtable together with colleagues from IUK. The Glasgow team (Dr Srabani Maitra, Professor Mike Osborne, Professor Seth Agbo and Professor Muhammad Imran) made a number of presentations on 3 December 2018 that introduced work at the university linking smart and learning cities, and Professor Imran in particular focussed on our work in developing the Smart Campus.
We were delighted to hear a presentation on Innovative/Digital Cities in Kyrgyzstan made by colleagues from the university led by its Chairman of Board of Trustees, and Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic, Professor Asylbek Aidaraliev. That presentation is featured below and attached (and will shortly accompanied by an English summary).
We are very grateful to Dr Natalya Pak from the International IT University of Kazakhstan for her excellent assistance in translation.
