A professional development opportunity for voluntary sector practitioners from Learning Link Scotland and the CLD Standards Council for Scotland.
What?
This one day seminar on adult education in Scotland will look at how we, as a profession, can use the Code of Ethics for CLD to support our work with individuals and communities to influence, shape and co-produce services.
Why?
The Statement of Ambition for Adult Learning in Scotland highlights that: Adult learning providers including local authorities, the third sector, trade unions, colleges, employers, national organisations and others should involve learners and communities as active partners in planning and delivering adult learning. They should also support communities to influence, shape and co-produce services.
The Community Learning and Development Competence Framework and Code of Ethics underpins this practice in community-based adult learning.
Who?
Seminar participants will be adult learning practitioners – whether full-time, part-time or sessional, paid or volunteers – delivering services in the voluntary sector. We have 30 spaces available.
During the course of the day, participants will hear short inputs from speakers including Jim Crowther and Joyce Connon; the majority of the day will be spent in conversation and reflection with colleagues.
Where and when?
The seminar will take place on Friday 30th January at the Volunteer Scotland offices in Stirling.
The day will start with coffee and informal discussion at 9.30am; the first formal session will start at 10.00am and the day will finish by 3.00pm.
How do I get involved?
To secure your place, please email Kirsty Walker by 23rd January.
Please note: you will need to do some brief pre-seminar reading. This will be sent to you after your
