We are pleased to report that CR&DALL core member Dr Ria Dunkley will be presenting within the Green Zone of COP26 in Glasgow as part of events highlighting of the work of universities. Her input with take place at the Glasgow Science Centre on 11 November 2021 where she will have a one and a half hour showcase, sharing maps created through the Dynamic Coast project.
Explorathon, the Scottish arm of European Researchers’ Night is now running, with online events for all ages. The full programme can be found at this link, and features many events led by the University of Glasgow community, including members of CR&DALL.
We are seeking abstracts on this theme for a proposed Special Issue of Learning and Teaching: the International Journal of Higher Education in the Social Sciences. Promoting early interest in STEM and role identification for girls, is of urgent interest for many global initiatives (e.g. Organization for Women in Science in the Developing World, 2021). Increasing proportions of girls and women studying and working in STEM would contribute not only to scientific development but to more equitable and sustainable societies, including gendered economic outcomes.

This briefing paper explores the adapted version of online participatory mapping, the challenges, and benefits, as well as some preliminary findings of engaging in this process.
We aim to showcase that mapping cultural and nonformal education activities represents an opportunity to locate current resources and infrastructure at community level to promote peacebuilding.
