Summary biography:
Regina Egetenmeyer works on questions of lifelong learning, informal learning, and professionalization in adult education and mobility for learning purposes. She has done several internationally comparative studies with a focus on both Europe and Asia.
Regina Egetenmeyer earned her PhD from the University of Duisburg-Essen, conducting a comparative study on informal learning at the workplace in three different countries. She worked as a research fellow at the University of Duisburg-Essen at the Chair of Adult Education (Prof. Nuissl von Rein) and at the German Institute for Adult Education. In 2010 she became a professor of lifelong learning at the University of Mainz (Juniorprofessur). Since 2013 she holds the Professorship for Adult and Continuing Education at the University of Würzburg. Her research emphasis are on internationally comparative research in adult and lifelong learning. She has provided scientific support to European development projects with a focus on comparative issues. A further focus of her research is on informal learning and lifelong learning.
