"Educational attainment and inequality in Scotland:
How does Scotland compare with the rest of the UK?"
Date: Wednesday 28th August 2013
Venue: G.21 Paterson’s Land, Moray House School of Education, University of Edinburgh
At the 8th International Researching Work and Learning Conference, hosted by the University of Stirling last month, a new book in the Knowledge Economy and Education Book Series (Sense Publishers) was launched. Volunteer Work, Informal Learning and Social Action, edited by Fiona Duguid, Karsten Mundel and Daniel Schugurensky, explores the connections between volunteer work and informal learning in various sectors: cooperatives, social housing, voluntary organisations, social movements, and the labour market. Underlining all the case studies is the goal to work for social justice. The book is now available from:
